Michiana,
The East Side Board of Directors is excited to announce that Fall Ball is underway!
This is our program dedicated to FUN!
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, registered players come to the park (properly equipped), warm up, and pick teams sandlot style.
This program is run by East Side volunteers who have passed our background screening process and Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth certifications.
With limited adult interference, kids get to play ball and have fun just like the old neighborhood games of the past.
Shirts for participants will be arriving soon....
Also, please be advised.....
If you had a player registered at East Side in 2024, you are eligible to be on our board of directors.
Nominations occurred at our September board meeting on 9-9-24. At our October board meeting, which will be on 10-14-24, we will be accepting further nominations, and electing officers and board positions. We always meet on the second Monday of the month, in the meeting room in the upstairs of the clubhouse. Time is 7:30PM. If you are able and willing to get more involved in this amazing organization, you will need to attend this meeting to find out more information.
One position that will for sure be open is Picture Day Coordinator. This is an easy task, thanks to the great photographer that we work with. It entails communicating with/between the photographer and our park's coaches and families. If communication and organization are strong suits for you, this is an easy way to help with park functions.
East Side Families,
We are very proud of Coach Blasko and his 10U-Red All Star Team. They played very well in the 2024 Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth World Series! They won a game in pool play, then moved on to the Ironman bracket, and won another game!
There were 24 other teams vying for the prestigious title, coming from all over the globe. Coach Blasko's team represented East Side and Michiana with dignity and fortitude. The Board of Directors is extremely proud of their accomplishments!
UPDATE:
In addition, Rodney Hubbard was one of ten players selected to the All Tournament Team! What a great distinction! Congrats Rodney!
There is a YouTube channel called "Region Sports Network" that aired all of the World Series games. For a limited time, I believe that you can go to their channel, and rewatch most of the games.
Here is the team roster, who made forever type memories:
Zane Barber, Baylen Blasko, Jackson Garrett, Brady Heatherly, Rowan Holderread, Rodney Hubbard Jr., Cooper Kranenburg, Luke Sollmann, Ryder Stackman, Roland Troiola, Landen Vail, & Easton White.
